Preparing the loading point and access for a machinery transport
Many delays on collection day are not caused by the machine but by what lies in front of it: the vehicle cannot get into the yard, the crane finds no firm ground, the hall door is lower than expected. A few photos and measurements in advance prevent this.
What matters
- Access
- Articulated trucks need space to enter and turn. Narrow gates, bends or passages determine the vehicle.
- Ground
- Paving, asphalt or grass? The ground has to carry the vehicle and crane outriggers.
- Door and hall
- Door height and width and the route from the installation spot to the door are often the narrowest point.
- Clear space
- Materials, pallets and third-party vehicles should not be in the way on collection day.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- How wide is the entrance, and can an articulated truck turn on site?
- What is the ground like at the loading point?
- How high and wide is the hall door?
- Are there overhead lines or trees that would obstruct a crane?
- What times apply for deliveries on site?
What we need from you
- Photos of entrance, yard and door
- Door height and width
- Description of the ground
- Sketch with loading point
Preparation: You hand the machine over ready for transport – dismantling, later installation and commissioning are done by your team or the manufacturer's service.
What we do for you
What we organise
- Transport planned around dimensions, weight and route – with the right vehicle and secure load
- Loading, unloading and crane work organised alongside on request
- One contact who coordinates dates with you and the people on site
Good to know
A clear path from the hall to the access road saves time on collection day. Photos of gate and yard help us choose the vehicle.
How it works
- 01
Request
You send route, date and machine details using the form below – anything unknown can stay open.
- 02
Review
We check photos and measurements, choose a suitable vehicle and clarify crane position and loading point.
- 03
Quote
You receive a quote with the agreed scope – on request including loading and crane organisation.
- 04
Execution
Arrival at the agreed loading point, loading as planned, safe exit from the site.
Questions and answers: Preparing the loading point and access
Which photos help with planning access?
Entrance, yard, hall door and loading point – ideally with measurements of door height and width.
What if a crane would have to stand on grass?
Then the ground has to be checked or reinforced beforehand. Crane outriggers need load-bearing ground.
Who clears yard and hall on collection day?
The operator on site. Third-party vehicles, pallets and materials should not block the way.
