Transporting printing presses

A sheetfed offset press consists of feeder, several printing units, possibly a coating unit, and delivery. For transport it is split into these units – each heavy, precise and in need of its own plan.

What matters

Units instead of a machine
We plan with the printing units and assemblies prepared by the dismantling service. Their number determines vehicles and loading order.
Rollers and cylinders
Blanket, plate and impression cylinders are protected. Inking units are cleaned.
Electronics
Control console and control cabinets travel separately and are loaded protected against shocks and moisture.
Order
At destination the units are needed in a defined order. We agree delivery with the installation team.

Planning questions

We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.

  1. Which press is it, and into how many units will it be split?
  2. How heavy is the heaviest printing unit?
  3. Do console, dryer or powder spray unit travel along?
  4. In which order does the installation team need the units?
  5. Is there an overhead crane at both sites?

What we need from you

  • List of units with dimensions and weights
  • Manufacturer, type and format class
  • Installation plan at destination
  • Crane and door situation in both halls

Preparation: You hand the machine over ready for transport – dismantling, later installation and commissioning are done by your team or the manufacturer's service.

What we do for you

What we organise

  • Transport planned around dimensions, weight and route – with the right vehicle and secure load
  • Loading, unloading and crane work organised alongside on request
  • One contact who coordinates dates with you and the people on site

Good to know

Printing presses travel in units. With the unit list from your specialist service we plan sequence, vehicles and arrival to suit the reassembly.

How it works

  1. 01

    Request

You send route, date and machine details using the form below – anything unknown can stay open.

  2. 02

    Review

We check the list of units, define vehicles and order and clarify the lifting equipment at both sites.

  3. 03

    Quote

You receive a quote with the agreed scope – on request including loading and crane organisation.

  4. 04

    Execution

Loading the units in the agreed order, low-shock securing, transport and handover to the installation team.

Questions and answers: Printing presses

Into how many parts is a sheetfed offset press split?

That depends on the number of printing units and equipment: feeder, printing units, possibly coating unit, delivery, console. The dismantling service's list of units is our planning basis.

Who dismantles and reassembles the printing press?

The manufacturer or a specialist service. We transport the prepared units and align arrival with the reassembly.

Can delivery follow the installation sequence?

Yes. We agree with the installation team which unit is needed first and load accordingly.
