Machines
Transporting machining centres
A machining centre is rarely a single item: base machine with enclosure, tool magazine, pallet changer, chip conveyor, coolant system and control cabinet. For planning we need the list of these parts – not only the total weight.
What matters
- Several packages
- What is sold as one machine often travels in several parts. Only the parts list shows how many vehicles and what lifting equipment are needed.
- Enclosure
- The protective enclosure is often the widest part. Whether it is removed determines the transport width.
- Pallet changer
- A pallet changer is secured or removed. Its pallets often travel separately.
- Hall doors
- Machining centres are tall. Even getting them out of the hall can be limited by door heights.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- Which parts does the machine consist of in transport position?
- Will the enclosure be removed completely or partly?
- Is there a pallet changer or tool magazine as a separate part?
- How tall and wide is the largest part, and how high is the hall door?
- Is an overhead crane available?
What we need from you
- Parts list with dimensions and weights
- Manufacturer and type
- Height of hall doors at both sites
- Photos of the machine in transport position
Preparation: You hand the machine over ready for transport – dismantling, later installation and commissioning are done by your team or the manufacturer's service.
What we do for you
What we organise
- Transport planned around dimensions, weight and route – with the right vehicle and secure load
- Loading, unloading and crane work organised alongside on request
- One contact who coordinates dates with you and the people on site
Good to know
Ask the manufacturer for the transport sections and their weights. With that breakdown we plan vehicle and crane precisely.
How it works
- 01
Request
You send route, date and machine details using the form below – anything unknown can stay open.
- 02
Review
We assign the parts to vehicles, check clearance heights and the lifting equipment for the heaviest part.
- 03
Quote
You receive a quote with the agreed scope – on request including loading and crane organisation.
- 04
Execution
Loading the parts in an agreed order, securing, transport and handover; with an organised crane on request.
Questions and answers: Machining centres
Why does Logisticoo ask for a parts list rather than the total weight?
Because a machining centre usually travels in several parts: base machine, magazine, pallet changer, chip conveyor, control cabinet. Only the parts list shows vehicles needed and the lifting equipment for the heaviest part.
Does the enclosure have to be removed?
Your dismantling team or the manufacturer decides. The enclosure is often the widest part; whether it stays determines the transport width.
What if the machine does not fit through the hall door?
We clarify that beforehand using door height and dimensions in transport position. Further parts may need to be separated – that is part of dismantling, not of the transport.
