Transporting eccentric presses
Eccentric presses are often older, robust machines – frequently without complete documents. Typical are a heavy crown with flywheel and a high centre of gravity. Above all, the actual weight has to be reliably known before transport.
What matters
- Flywheel
- The flywheel is heavy and sits high. It is secured against rotating; belts and guards remain fixed or are packed separately.
- Documents often missing
- With older presses the weight is not always known. Rating plate, manufacturer information or weighing provide certainty.
- Top-heavy
- C-frame presses tip forward easily. Lifting points and securing are matched to this.
- Foundation bolts
- The press must be released from its foundation bolts before it is lifted – that is part of dismantling.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- Is the weight known – from the rating plate, the manufacturer or estimated?
- Is it a C-frame or a straight-side press?
- Is the flywheel secured against rotating?
- Has the press been released from its foundation?
- Are there crane eyes or bores for lifting bars?
What we need from you
- Design, press force and weight (with source)
- Dimensions
- Photos of crown and base
- Loading situation at both sites
Preparation: You hand the machine over ready for transport – dismantling, later installation and commissioning are done by your team or the manufacturer's service.
What we do for you
What we organise
- Transport planned around dimensions, weight and route – with the right vehicle and secure load
- Loading, unloading and crane work organised alongside on request
- One contact who coordinates dates with you and the people on site
Good to know
A photo of the rating plate quickly turns an estimated weight into a reliable value – and makes the quote more precise.
How it works
- 01
Request
You send route, date and machine details using the form below – anything unknown can stay open.
- 02
Review
We check how reliable the weight figure is and plan lifting equipment and securing with a margin for the high centre of gravity.
- 03
Quote
You receive a quote with the agreed scope – on request including loading and crane organisation.
- 04
Execution
Lifting at checked points, loading secured against tipping, transport and handover at destination.
Questions and answers: Eccentric presses
What if the weight of an old eccentric press is unknown?
Rating plate, manufacturer information or weighing provide clarity. If the weight is only estimated, the quote says so and lifting equipment is planned with a margin.
How is the flywheel secured?
It is secured against rotating; belts and guards remain firmly fitted or are packed separately.
Does the press have to be released from its foundation?
Yes. Foundation bolts are loosened before collection – that is part of dismantling. Only then can it be lifted.
