Transporting compressors and compressed air stations
Industrial compressors are compact and heavy, often in sound-insulated enclosures. For transport they must be depressurised; air receivers, dryers and filters are usually separate items.
What matters
- Depressurised
- Compressor and receivers are vented before collection. A pressurised vessel is not loaded.
- Oil and condensate
- Lubricating oil usually stays in the unit; condensate is drained. Leaks must be fixed beforehand.
- Receivers and dryers
- Air receivers are tall and comparatively light but awkward. They are secured lying or upright – depending on the manufacturer.
- Fork pockets
- Many compressors have fork pockets in the base frame. That makes loading easier.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- What design, output and weight does the compressor have?
- Are compressor and receivers depressurised?
- Do air receivers, dryers and filters travel along?
- Are there fork pockets or crane eyes?
- How is access to the compressor room?
What we need from you
- Manufacturer, type and weight
- Dimensions of compressor and receivers
- Confirmation: depressurised
- Photos of the installation room
Preparation: You hand the machine over ready for transport – dismantling, later installation and commissioning are done by your team or the manufacturer's service.
What we do for you
What we organise
- Transport planned around dimensions, weight and route – with the right vehicle and secure load
- Loading, unloading and crane work organised alongside on request
- One contact who coordinates dates with you and the people on site
Good to know
Once the system is depressurised and disconnected, we load compressor and receiver safely – recommissioning at destination is arranged by you as usual.
How it works
- 01
Request
You send route, date and machine details using the form below – anything unknown can stay open.
- 02
Review
We check dimensions and weights, pick-up points and the way out of the compressor room.
- 03
Quote
You receive a quote with the agreed scope – on request including loading and crane organisation.
- 04
Execution
Loading compressor and accessories, securing, transport and handover at destination.
Questions and answers: Compressors
Does a compressor have to be depressurised?
Yes. Compressor and air receivers are vented before collection. A pressurised vessel is not loaded.
Is the air receiver transported lying or upright?
The manufacturer specifies this. Receivers are tall and awkward and are secured accordingly.
How does recommissioning work at destination?
Your service or the manufacturer handles it, including any required pressure vessel inspections. We deliver the compressor to the set-down point on time.
