Machines
Transporting boring mills
Boring mills are among the larger machine tools. For transport they are usually split into main assemblies: bed, column, spindle head, rotary table. Each assembly is a heavy item in its own right.
What matters
- Assemblies instead of a machine
- We plan with the assemblies your dismantling team prepares – not with the assembled machine.
- High individual weights
- Bed and column are often too heavy for a forklift. We organise crane work on request.
- Long beds
- Long machine beds determine the vehicle length. Beyond that, a permit may become necessary – then we check the route via our Heavy & Project service.
- Order at destination
- At destination, bed and column are needed in a particular order. We agree delivery with the installation team.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- Into which assemblies will the boring mill be split, and how heavy is each?
- How long is the machine bed?
- Is there an overhead crane with sufficient capacity at collection and destination?
- In which order does the installation team need the parts at destination?
- Do controls and accessories travel along?
What we need from you
- Parts list with dimensions and weights
- Manufacturer and type
- Crane equipment of both halls
- Installation plan at destination
Preparation: You hand the machine over ready for transport – dismantling, later installation and commissioning are done by your team or the manufacturer's service.
What we do for you
What we organise
- Transport planned around dimensions, weight and route – with the right vehicle and secure load
- Loading, unloading and crane work organised alongside on request
- One contact who coordinates dates with you and the people on site
Good to know
Tell us the dimensions and weight of the largest assembly. If they are very large, Logisticoo Heavy & Project plans the transport with permit and escort.
How it works
- 01
Request
You send route, date and machine details using the form below – anything unknown can stay open.
- 02
Review
We check individual weights and lengths, choose vehicles and lifting equipment, and whether individual parts require permits.
- 03
Quote
You receive a quote with the agreed scope – on request including loading and crane organisation.
- 04
Execution
Loading the assemblies with suitable lifting equipment, transport in an agreed order, handover to the installation team.
Questions and answers: Boring mills
Is a boring mill transported in one piece?
Usually not. Bed, column, spindle head and rotary table are prepared as assemblies. We plan vehicles and lifting equipment according to this parts list.
What if the machine bed is very long?
The bed length determines the vehicle length. If a part exceeds usual dimensions, we assess the transport as a heavy-haulage project at Logisticoo Heavy & Project.
Can delivery be aligned with the installation plan?
Yes. Bed and column are needed at destination in a particular order; we deliver the assemblies in the sequence the installation team specifies.
