Returning loan, rental and demo machines
Loan, rental and demo machines travel back and forth between manufacturer or dealer and the user. On the way back, besides transport, two things matter: a date the user keeps and a clearly recorded condition at collection.
What matters
- Condition at collection
- Returns often raise questions about damage. Photos and a short note at collection create clarity for everyone.
- The user as contact
- The machine stands at the customer's site, not the principal's. We need a contact there who provides access and loading.
- Preparation by the user
- A loan machine also has to be disconnected and secured. Who does that at the user's site should be clear beforehand.
- Straight on
- Sometimes a demo machine goes straight to the next prospect. Then we plan the onward route instead of the return.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- Where is the machine, and who is the contact there?
- Is the machine disconnected and secured for transport at the user's site – and by whom?
- Does the machine go back to the factory or straight to the next customer?
- Should the condition at collection be recorded with photos?
- Are there accessories or tools that have to come back as well?
What we need from you
- Location at the user and contact
- Return destination
- Dimensions, weight and packaging
- Preferred collection period
Preparation: You hand the machine over ready for transport – dismantling, later installation and commissioning are done by your team or the manufacturer's service.
What we do for you
What we organise
- Transport planned around dimensions, weight and route – with the right vehicle and secure load
- Loading, unloading and crane work organised alongside on request
- One contact who coordinates dates with you and the people on site
Good to know
On request we record the outer condition at collection – so the return is traceable for everyone involved.

Questions and answers: Returning loan and demo machines
Is the condition of a loan machine documented at collection?
On request we record the visible external condition with photos and a short note. We do not carry out a technical inspection of the machine.
Does the user have to prepare the loan machine?
Yes, it must be disconnected and secured. Who does that at the user's site – their staff or your service – should be clear before the date.
Can a demo machine go straight to the next prospect?
Yes. Instead of the return trip we then plan the onward route from the current to the next site.
