Transporting moulds and die-casting dies

Moulds are compact but very heavy – and often more valuable than the machine they run in. In transport, what counts is locking the mould halves, corrosion protection of the cavities and load securing designed for a lot of weight on a small area.

What matters

High density
A mould puts a lot of weight on a pallet footprint. Load securing and distribution are designed for this.
Locking the halves
Transport straps or locking bridges keep the halves closed. Without locking there is no transport.
Corrosion protection
Cavities and cooling channels are preserved and kept dry.
Value and documentation
When moulds are transferred between suppliers, a handover with a recorded condition makes sense.

Planning questions

We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.

  1. How many moulds are there, and how heavy is each?
  2. Are the mould halves locked and the cooling channels drained?
  3. Are the moulds on pallets or frames?
  4. Who is the owner, and who releases the collection?
  5. Should additional insurance be discussed?

What we need from you

  • Number, dimensions and weights
  • Packaging or base
  • Owner's release
  • Loading situation at both sites

Preparation: You hand the machine over ready for transport – dismantling, later installation and commissioning are done by your team or the manufacturer's service.

What we do for you

What we organise

  • Transport planned around dimensions, weight and route – with the right vehicle and secure load
  • Loading, unloading and crane work organised alongside on request
  • One contact who coordinates dates with you and the people on site

Good to know

For valuable moulds, ask us about additional insurance. We agree the scope with you in the quote.

How it works

  1. 01

    Request

You send route, date and machine details using the form below – anything unknown can stay open.

  2. 02

    Review

We check the weight per mould, base and loading equipment and clarify who releases the collection.

  3. 03

    Quote

You receive a quote with the agreed scope – on request including loading and crane organisation.

  4. 04

    Execution

Loading with suitable equipment, securing for high point loads, transport and handover to the recipient.

Questions and answers: Moulds and die-casting dies

Why is load securing especially important for moulds?

Moulds put a great deal of weight on a small footprint. Securing and load distribution have to be designed for this high point load.

Who releases a customer-owned mould for collection?

The owner, often the supplier's customer. We do not collect without that release; we need it before the date.

How is a valuable mould insured?

Statutory liability is limited per kilogram. On request we agree additional insurance – an entered goods value alone does not trigger cover.

About the machine

As precise as known – manufacturer and model help but are not required.

Machine dimensions (L × W × H)

Comma or point as decimal separator, e.g. 2.35 m.

Weight
Is the machine ready for transport?

Ready for transport means: dismantled, secured and prepared for loading. We do not carry out dismantling, installation or commissioning.
