Transporting industrial robots
An industrial robot is moved in a transport position defined by the manufacturer – arm retracted, axes secured. Controller cabinet, teach pendant, gripper and base travel as separate items.
What matters
- Transport position
- The axis position for transport is specified by the manufacturer. Only then are centre of gravity and lifting points correct.
- Controller
- The controller cabinet is heavy and sensitive. It travels upright and protected against shocks.
- Cables
- Connection cables between robot and controller are unplugged, coiled and packed protected.
- Cell
- Robot cells add safety fences, tables and conveyors – as separate packages.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- Which manufacturer, type and payload does the robot have?
- Has it been moved to transport position and secured?
- Do controller, teach pendant and cables travel along?
- Are gripper, base or cell parts included?
- Is there lifting gear or a transport frame from the manufacturer?
What we need from you
- Manufacturer, type and weight
- Dimensions in transport position
- List of additional parts
- Loading situation on site
Preparation: You hand the machine over ready for transport – dismantling, later installation and commissioning are done by your team or the manufacturer's service.
What we do for you
What we organise
- Transport planned around dimensions, weight and route – with the right vehicle and secure load
- Loading, unloading and crane work organised alongside on request
- One contact who coordinates dates with you and the people on site
Good to know
Have the robot moved into transport position and fixed. Controller and cable sets travel with it – complete and matched.
How it works
- 01
Request
You send route, date and machine details using the form below – anything unknown can stay open.
- 02
Review
We check transport position, lifting points and how controller and accessories travel protected.
- 03
Quote
You receive a quote with the agreed scope – on request including loading and crane organisation.
- 04
Execution
Loading robot and controller, shock-protected securing, transport and handover at destination.
Questions and answers: Industrial robots
Why is the transport position so important for a robot?
Only in the position defined by the manufacturer are centre of gravity and lifting points correct. In another position the robot can tip when lifted or load its axes.
Does the controller travel with the robot?
Yes, as a separate item, upright and protected against shocks. Connection cables are unplugged and packed separately.
Who moves the robot into transport position?
Your integrator or the manufacturer. We then take over the robot ready for transport.
